The Findout is a weekly email newsletter written by Hasan Khair. This notice explains what information I collect when you subscribe, what I do with it, and the choices you have.

When you subscribe, I collect your email address, and your first name if you choose to give it. When you open an email or click a link, the platform I use records that, along with the rough location and device type it can infer from your connection. If you reply to an edition, I keep your reply, the way anyone keeps an email.
I use your email address to send you The Findout, which you asked for when you subscribed. That's consent, and you can withdraw it at any time by unsubscribing. I use the open and click information to understand what's useful and what isn't, so the newsletter gets better. That's my legitimate interest in running it well, and it doesn't involve profiling you in any way that affects you.
From time to time I'll tell subscribers about things I offer: coaching, programmes, products. That's part of the newsletter you signed up for, not a separate list. If you'd rather not hear about any of it, unsubscribe and you'll stop receiving everything.
The Findout is sent through beehiiv, a newsletter platform based in the United States. beehiiv stores subscriber data on my behalf and processes it under a data processing agreement, with standard contractual clauses covering the transfer of your data outside the UK. I don't sell your details and I don't share them with anyone else.
For as long as you're subscribed. When you unsubscribe, your address is marked as unsubscribed so you're not emailed again, and it's deleted within twelve months unless you ask me to delete it sooner.
Under UK data protection law you can ask me what information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, ask me to delete it, or object to how I'm using it. Email [email protected] and I'll respond within a month. If you're not happy with how I've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
The newsletter's website uses the small number of cookies beehiiv needs to make the sign-up form and the archive work. It doesn't use advertising cookies.
If this notice changes, the date at the top will change with it, and anything that matters to you will be in the newsletter.
